S14 Fuel Pump Installation Guide

The following is a post by "tictac23242" on the egroups forum regarding the replacement of a S14 fuel pump.

Ok well my car once again starts and i now know how to replace the fuel pump in an s14 200sx. So what you say? Well because this is a discussion group ive decided to share this information.

1. Directly under the rear parcel shelf to the right (under the carpet of course) there will be a plate with two wires going through a large grommet.

2. Remove the four screws holding the plate down. Underneath you will find the fuel assembly. detach the two connections going into the assembly and move the plate out of the way.

3. You will see 3 hoses one with an arrow going out, one going in and another smaller one. Detach the one with the arrow going in first. Then detach the one going out. careful as there will be a small amount of fuel dripping out. Keep this hose elevated. finally detach the smaller one.

4. There will be a black ring with notches on it. to remove the assembly you must remove the ring by turning it anticlockwise. It may be stiff so you may have to force it with a screwdriver and hammer hitting the notches.

5. Once removed you will see the fuel pump its hidden in the tank lying on the side towards the front of the car. Get in the boot and use a torch to find it. You should see a metal bar that the pump is attached to. If you really cant see it follow the red and white wires from the assembly. To remove it simply lift it up and it comes straight out.

6. Remove the single hose and wire connection to it and replace with the new one.

7. Put it back the way it came out, reverse steps 1-4 and your done. Check for leaks in the hoses!
